Futaba Yoshioka adopts an unfeminine persona to avoid female classmates' jealousy until she reunites with Kou Tanaka, her first love who now goes by Mabuchi. Changed by his mother's death, Kou is no longer the warm person she knew. As class representatives alongside their friends, they slowly reconnect. Though their feelings resurface, complications arise when Kou's friend Yui appears, leading Futaba to briefly date Toma. After overcoming their past hurdles and accepting personal growth, Futaba and Kou finally acknowledge their love for each other, with Kou reclaiming his original surname and marking a new beginning for both.
